Nineteen years have passed since Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort. Harry, who is now an overworked Ministry of Magic employee, is married to Ginny Weasley, and it’s time for their son Albus to go to Hogwarts. Albus – who gets sorted into Slytherin against his wishes, and Scorpius – Harry’s once archnemesis Draco Malfoy’s son – become close and very unlikely friends, and in an attempt to return to the fateful night Cedric Diggory was killed by using a Time-Turner, create alternate timelines and cause the past and present to merge – with possible catastrophic consequences.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth installment of J.K. Rowling’s novel series that went down in history as the best-selling novels in history – written in play format by Jack Thorne, J.K. Rowling, and John Tiffany. 

The critically acclaimed production-team is headed up by award-winning director John Tiffany (Black Watch, Once, Peter Pan, The Bacchae, Macbeth, Let The Right One In, The Glass Menagerie). The creative team also includes the talents of movement director Steven Hoggett, set designer Christine Jones, costume designer Katrina Lindsay, composer and arranger Imogen Heap, lighting designer Neil Austin, sound designer Gareth Fry, music supervisor and arranger Martin Lowe, video designers Finn Ross and Ash J. HISTORY & LEGACY

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child premiered on the West End in 2016 at the Palace Theatre, receiving a record-breaking eleven nominations at the 2017 Laurence Olivier Awards, of which it won 9. The Broadway production opened in early 2018 at the Lyric Theatre, receiving no less than six Tony Awards. 

To date, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the highest-grossing non-musical play in Broadway history, and added plenty of awards to the already lengthy list, including three Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards, ten WhatsOnStage Awards, five Drama Desk Awards, six Outer Critics’ Circle Awards, a Drama League Award, a Helpmann Award, a Dora Award, and a special citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Awards.

The Keller Auditorium, situated on Clay Street in Downtown Portland, has been entertaining Oregon with the best of the best in world-renowned entertainment for over a century, hosting everything theatre – from Portland Opera’s spectacular productions to the Oregon Ballet Theatre’s breathtaking performances, from the musical magic of the Oregon Symphony to countless touring acts. 

The Keller Auditorium opened its doors to the public in 1917, featuring stunning designs by architects Joseph H. Freelander and A.D. Seymour, and underwent major renovations in the late 1960s with architect Keith Maguire at the helm.
