Shen Yun Performing Arts at Keller Auditorium

Behold ancient Chinese histories unfold in an inspiring commemoration bursting with spirituality, passion, and color. Shen Yun — today's leading music and dance institution — has confirmed this season's timetable of programs connecting several of North America’s most esteemed venues, including the Keller Auditorium on Friday 17th April 2026!

Before the era of Communism, FIVE MILLENNIA of arts, legends, and culture flourished in each curve of the Chinese mainland, and year after year, the New York City-founded Shen Yun brings these timeless treasures back to life for everyone to admire! This year will be the same.

Heavenly gods walking across the earth. Sprawling grasslands swept by hordes of Mongolian nomads. And battlefield valor of lionhearted soldiers. Shen Yun’s yearly exhibitions explore the many fables and sagas that crossed Chinese empires, artistically illustrating their tragedies and romances with aspects from Taoist and Buddhist beliefs to polish each story.

The approaching presentation will showcase 20 narrative sections of unbelievable performances in about two hours. Classically instructed dancers dressed in delightfully decorated outfits will glide to the floor, recounting the show’s stories through 17 to 18 intricate folk dance sequences. In addition, 2 or 3 instrumental and vocal solos will accentuate these phases with invigorating symphonies — both original and traditional.

A full-piece band will perform sweeping music throughout the show, innovatively combining Chinese and Western instrumentation. In terms of stagecraft, Shen Yun makes use of a cutting-edge virtual background to display animated scenarios, pulling viewers into the world of China before Communism in a jaw-dropping fashion.

For the tour’s pit stop in Oregon's city of Portland, the world-class Keller Auditorium will open as host. Its stunning stage, honored by several of the past year’s biggest acts, will present the base for the breathtaking show, elevating it further with clear sight lines, immaculate lighting, and pitch-perfect acoustics.
