Well well well - you guys ready to journey with us again back to the golden age of eastern european ballet, right here in the middle of Portland?! For the last fifteen spring seasons, we’ve been journeying back to the 19th century with you all for the most eclectic ceremony of our time - none other than Sleeping Beauty. And if it’s your first time here and seeing the magical night - welcome! We can't wait to see you here for the final dance of the run! We hope you’re comfortable - ‘cause this one’s gonna be a journey through dreams and artistic excellence. And now, the story is returning to the stage in full, glittering glory. On Saturday, February 21st, 2026, the Oregon Ballet Theatre invites us all into a fairytale dreamscape as The Sleeping Beauty takes over here at the Keller Auditorium for a night (and afternoon) of pure classical magic. This is the last show of the run for the 2026 season - so, if you've been seeing it online and wanting to pop in to see what all the hype is about: well, now’s your chance folks. 

First premiered in 1890, The Sleeping Beauty is one of the most celebrated ballets in history, set to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score, for our version - we also have choreography by Christopher Stowell. The ballet is known for its regal court scenes, the intricate and intense choreography that feels classic yet also new age, and all the show-stopping techniques as well too. This ballet has stood the test of time for the last century and a half so like, what are you waiting for?  From the moment the curtain rises, we all are transported into a world of elegance, romance, russian etiquette and a spellbinding storytelling told entirely through movement. Every gesture matters. Every entrance feels important. Every moment feels larger than life - and THAT folks is why you need to be here for it all when it goes down.
