BLADE RUNNER LIVE IN CONCERT is finally coming to the United States for a wild run of futuristic screenings that bring in classical notes to Vangeli’s synthesizer-driven soundtrack. In perfect sync with the full film in HD, relive all your favorite moments from Ridley’s Scott’s cult-favorite classic. Diehard fans will know that several versions of the film made it out due to various reasons, but this special orchestral screening will play the 2007 Final Cut in which Scott gained full artistic control. All your favorite tunes and synth notes across the film will be brought to life by The Avex Ensemble — drawing their strings in the most unique way as futuristic beep boops turn into smooth harmonies.

ABOUT BLADE RUNNER

The film follows Rick Deckard, the star ‘blade runner’ on duty to hunt down fugitive synthetic humans, called replicants, led by Roy Batty. Hopping across a future dystopian Los Angeles set in 2019, the 1982 film forecasted a gloomy cyberpunk future. Highly regarded as a turning point in sci-fi cinema, Blade Runner has influenced many films, games, anime, and TV series. In 1993, the film was included in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for preservation. Recognizing its pioneer role in science-fiction cinema and its withstanding influence in popular culture, it is celebrated to this day. 

Many filmmakers, directors, and screenplay writers have shared that Blade Runner played a pivotal role in cinema, becoming a great influence in their work. Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro shared that it’s “one of those cinematic drugs, that when I first saw it, I never saw the world the same way again.” Meanwhile, American filmmaker Scott Derrickson claimed that it could be “maybe the best American film ever made.” Cinematographer Owen Soffer also expressed that Blade Runner is a huge influence on his work, calling it “the most visually stunning of all time.”
